Designed to meet the needs of the
road tanker industry for faster fluid transfer, lighter weight, lower costs,
lower maintenance and higher reliability, the new range of rotary tanker pumps
just announced by Wright Flow Technologies Ltd deliver higher cost efficiency for
pumping hygienic products, such as sugars, starches, chocolate, food oils, milk,
cream and beverage products, or for industrial liquids. Two models, the RTP 20
with full bore 75mm (3”) inlet and outlet ports, and the RTP 30 with 100mm (4”)
full bore inlet and outlet ports, operate at pressures up to 12 bar and can
handle even viscous liquids at high rates of flow.
The bore of the ports is full size right through the casing, not reduced in
diameter as in many pumps, so flow is not restricted.
Despite achieving higher flows and
higher pressures than most competitor pumps, the Johnson RTP pumps are smaller
and lighter than most and need less maintenance. There is a wide range of
product seals available, making Johnson RTP pumps suitable for all road tanker
applications, hygienic or industrial, food or chemical. A vital advantage is
that the Johnson RTP pump can be cleaned and sterilised in situ, or stripped for
cleaning by hand. For handling heat-sensitive products, such as chocolate,
heating can be applied to the pump head to prevent the liquid from solidifying
in the pump.
Maintenance is minimised by
pre-filling the pump gearbox with semi-liquid grease and sealing the unit, so
that there is no need for routine gearbox inspections and filling.
All of the product seal options are
accessed from the front of the pump so that they can be inspected and changed
without disconnecting the pipework or removing the pump from the tanker. The
seals can be removed for cleaning and refitted by the operator in minutes.
Wright Flow Technologies Ltd is a company within the
Fluid & Metering Technologies Group of the world-wide IDEX Corporation. For
